Summer is a crazy time of year for us. Every year we have all sorts of plans and hopes and only a small fraction of them get done. This summer was exceptionally challenging. I have been bombarded with challenges in my personal life. While trying to sort them all out and deal with them, this blog, once again, has gone by the wayside.
Days rushed by in a blur. I struggled to keep my head above water most days. I wanted to stay in bed more often than not.
There seems to be a slowing down. Both myself and the kiddo have fallen prey to a nasty summer cold. We have had to physically slow down and have not left the house for a few days. This has allowed me to think. To prioritize. To breathe.
Sometimes, something that seems to have no good side to it, actually is exactly what you needed.
I realized that I missed this blog. I missed my outlet. I missed all of you.
I realized that who I am is not defined by a few choices, decisions, and an outfit. I am the complex and comlicated sum of my experiences, parts, roles, likes, dislikes, desires, fears, dreams and that is entirely ok. Actually, it is awesome.
I realized that it is true that money does not buy happiness. That happiness comes from within. From being surrounded by people you love and who love you. If someone doesn't fit the bill, it is OK to say goodbye to them and move on.
I realized that I love the life I am living. Sure, there are details I would love to change but that is just motivation to do better. Motivation to keep moving forward.
Thanks for hanging in there. You mean the world to me, I mean it.
